Hello Everyone!

In the 2000 movie, “Pay It Forward,” a young student sets in motion an unprecedented wave of human kindness which, unbeknownst to him, blossoms into a profound national phenomenon. One of the most poignant roles in the film is played by Angie Dickinson, who has been a screen legend since she co-starred with John Wayne and Dean Martin in the classic (1959) movie Rio Bravo. On a side note, Angie and Donna have enjoyed one of Donna’s closest and most enduring friendships (more than 50 years). Their families did many things together. Donna and David were married in Angie’s backyard in 1984.

The concept of “paying It forward” is found in so many parts of our lives and work that we love this month’s theme. If you have developed the skills that guide someone who is not well back into good health, you will probably never know the ways that action brought blessings to them, their families, their community, and their contributions to the world. One of the most gratifying ways the paying it forward principle comes into play within our lives involves scholarships that make it possible for a deserving person without resources to go through our Certification Program and become an Energy Medicine practitioner serving their community.

This article is not a solicitation for scholarship donations, though we will say that for every individual we have been able to offer a scholarship, three times that number have applied. It is heartbreaking to turn away a person who is capable and desiring of bringing better health care to their community using the uniquely powerful tools of energy medicine. What we do want to do here is to tell you some of the ways our scholarship recipients have impacted others. Since 2006, 298 people have gone through our program on partial scholarships, and they are now using that training in the service of our organizational purpose: “Raising the Vibration of the Planet, One Person at a Time.”

For this month's intro, we asked three of our former scholarship recipients to briefly relate a “paying it back” story where their having received the scholarship ultimately resulted in one person’s life having made a turn for the better. Here are their replies:

A mother of four, already a health care professional, was intrigued by energy medicine and managed to attend the first year of our certification program. But the resources she had from her late husband were quickly depleting. Without scholarship help, it would not have been possible for her to complete the program. She reports: “To say I am grateful is an understatement!  My practice quickly attracted clients, and many of them had children they wanted me to see as well. One child stands out in my mind. His mother had worked hard to get him care, but conventional medicine hadn’t been able to help him. His energies were extremely reactive. His digestion was a mess. He was frequently too sick to go to school. But he responded beautifully to the energy work. His improvement after four sessions was remarkable.  His mother couldn’t believe how quickly the energy work turned his health around. I have kept track of him over the years. He’s now midway through college and doing wonderfully.  I know the Eden work was life-changing for him. I’ve continued to work with both children and adults who have complex and chronic health issues, seeing turn-arounds like this again and again. Eden Energy Medicine took my health care skills to a new level and have allowed me to make a difference in the lives of so many.”

The mother of two teenage daughters who was transitioning out of a domestic violence situation describes how her EEM scholarship provided her with “momentum, focus, and tools to change my life trajectory and support not only myself but my daughters. I received more than financial assistance. I gained the support of a worldwide tribe which was critical to move out of the victim role. Thanks to the scholarship, we are safe, happy, and enjoying a new life. Four years later I am an Advanced Practitioner and gratefully paying it forward, supporting others to transition their lives.” In response to our inquiry for a specific case for this e-letter, she described a one-session “cure” of a debilitating condition. The client was a health care provider specializing in spinal injuries who herself was suffering with a cervical condition that had persisted for 4½ months, severely limiting the range of motion in her neck, producing cervical ligament instability, burning sensations in her face, and frequent strong nausea. Despite her access to colleagues who were top specialists in this area, nothing had helped. After one intensive EEM session, she woke up the next morning with full range of motion in her neck. Everything changed. None of this would have occurred if the scholarship hadn’t made it possible for her practitioner to continue her EEM training.

Rand Gholson was 53, coming out of a harsh divorce that left him “broke,” when a scholarship made it possible to participate in our Certification Program and make a career change. He completed the two-year program, built a practice, completed the two subsequent advanced years of the program, became a member of faculty, and a mentor to many of our upcoming practitioners. Rand was one of our brightest lights when an unexpected hemorrhage exacerbated by blood thinners after having overcome Covid ended his life two years ago this month. Our heartbroken announcement described him as “a big, burly bear of a man who wore bright colors and wasn’t afraid to hug, laugh, smile, and reach out to those who needed some extra TLC. And it was all real.”

We reached out to Rand’s wife and fellow EEM-practitioner, Laura Gholson, asking if we could honor Rand’s memory by including him in this “paying it forward” issue. She responded: “There were many wonderful situations over the years of Rand practicing energy medicine and affecting so many lives.” Asked to describe one, she recalled a man in his 60s, actually a family friend, who was unable to walk, talk, or even feed himself following a stroke. Rand began working with him shortly after the stroke while he was still in the hospital, then in rehab, and then after his return home. Rand also taught the man’s wife techniques to use between sessions. The man “made a full recovery and 13 years later is still going strong.” This is just one of many stories of Rand facilitating a beautiful healing, all tracing back to receiving the scholarship and paying it forward so many many times.

When it comes to giving back, few people can outdo Donna! Her generosity is enormous and extends to everyone around her, including strangers. One of Donna’s most memorable acts of kindness happened some years ago when she volunteered to offer energy medicine sessions at an assisted living facility and witnessed what some people might consider to be a miracle! Maryna Allan

As recent wildfires in Maui blazed through the beautiful, historic town of Lahaina, residents were left to grapple with the loss and trauma of watching their beloved town go up in flames. 

It’s at times like this when the world needs more people like Maryna Allan! A certified EEM practitioner, Maryna immediately flew to Maui and volunteered to help by offering free energy medicine sessions and classes.
