Taking the Exam

Eligibility. The candidate must meet the eligibility requirements to apply for the exam of either being a current Level 2: Certification Training graduate or having received an equivalency waiver from Innersource.

Registering to take the exam. Eligible candidates will register to take the Certification Exam by going to https://www.eemcentral.com and selecting the Certification Exam Registration tile activated on the candidates dashboard upon receiving their Level 2 diploma. You will be requested to register and pay the exam fee of $450 prior to exams being given. You will be able to schedule your in-person demonstration sessions immediately upon registration, or if you are unable to commit to one of the dates and times listed on the scheduling form, you can return at a later time to schedule your sessions. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the system to process your registration and activate the exams.

Qualified Examiner. A list of Qualified Examiners and their available times will be included on the application form. Each Qualified Examiner has been trained and certified to provide the appropriate environment for the exam, as well as a computer with internet access for any remote testing components requested of the exam. If you elect to do your live demonstrations via video conference call, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate equipment and internet connection to successfully support the exam. Please review our Exam Technology Requirements article prior to requesting a remote exam.

Select Test Date. The computer-based multiple-choice examinations will be available to you within 30 minutes of applying for the exam. The demonstration and oral component of the exam must be scheduled through the online scheduling form. 

EEM Written Exam

This is a timed test and candidates must complete it within the time specified (2 hours). A reasonable time to complete the exam is approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours. The system will monitor the time you spend on the exam. The computer exam will terminate if you exceed the time allowed. The system will notify you when the exam time is completed on the written exam. Your exam will be graded upon completion by the system and you will automatically receive your score within 30 minutes. The system will let you know which questions you missed but does not provide you the correct answer.

  • Before beginning, instructions for taking the exam will be provided on-screen. 
  • The exam will have a minimum of 100 multiple-choice questions.
  • The questions are displayed one at a time with multiple answers and the candidate will indicate their choice. 
  • The candidate can skip questions in order to return to them later if they choose. 
  • When the test is completed, the candidate’s responses are automatically recorded and graded. 
  • Candidates will receive immediate notification within the system and an email notification within 30 minutes that confirms their score.
  • If a candidate does not receive a passing grade, the email will include instructions on how to re-take the exam, as well as feedback on which areas need improvement. 
  • There is a re-take fee of $75.00 for the EEM Written Exam.
  • There is a 48-hour waiting period on re-taking the EEM Written Exam.
  • Candidates are allowed to take the live EEM Demonstration before taking the EEM Written Exam if they choose.

EEM Live Demonstration

  • If for any reason you must reschedule the EEM live exam, a 48-hour minimum notification is required, or a $200 cancellation fee
    will apply.
  • Candidates are allowed to take the live EEM Demonstration before taking the EEM Written Exam if they choose.
  • This portion of the test is 2 hours (maximum).
  • Candidates are allowed to use study items from the list of Approved Exam Materials further below in this document.
  • The candidate will be expected to successfully score 84 out of 112 points on the exam to pass.
  • If a Candidate does not pass the EEM Live Demonstration, they will be allowed to re-take the test at a future date, but no sooner than three months (90 calendar days) after the unsuccessful attempt.
  • Candidates will receive written feedback about their score from their Examiner within 48 hours.

Ethics Written Exam

This is a timed test and candidates must complete it within the time specified (3 hours). The system will monitor the time you spend on the exam. The computer exam will terminate if you exceed the time allowed. The system will notify you when the exam time is completed on the written exam. Your exam will be graded upon completion by the system and you will automatically receive your score within 30 minutes. The system will let you know which questions you missed but does not provide you the correct answer.

  • Candidates are NOT allowed to take the Ethics Oral Exam before taking and passing the Ethics Written Exam.
  • This is a timed test and candidates must complete it within the time specified (3 hours). 
  • The questions are displayed one at a time with multiple answers and the candidate will indicate their choice. 
  • The candidate can skip questions in order to return to them later if they choose. 
  • When the test is completed, the candidate’s responses are automatically recorded and graded. 
  • Candidates will receive an immediate notification within EEM Central and an email notification within 30 minutes that confirms their score.
  • If you do not receive a passing grade, the email will include instructions on how to re-take the exam, and you will receive feedback from the system when a question is missed on which areas to study.
  • Re-taking the Ethics Written Exam is free.
  • Candidates must wait 48 hours before re-taking the Ethics Written Exam.

Ethics Oral Exam

Candidates are NOT allowed to take the Ethics Oral Exam before taking and passing the Ethics Written Exam.

  • If for any reason you must reschedule the Ethics oral exam, a 48-hour minimum notification is required, or a $100 cancellation fee
    will apply.
  • Maximum allowed time is 1 hour for this exam.
  • To successfully pass the Ethics Oral Exam, the candidate must achieve a passing score from the Examiner.
  • Candidates will be notified of their score within 48 hours of exam completion by the Examiner.
  • Candidates are required to bring The Ethics Handbook for Energy Healing Practitioners to the Oral Exam. Please see list of other Approved Exam Materials further below in this document.

Submission of Application. Once you successfully completed your Level 2 Diploma, the certification registration will be added to your EEM Central Dashboard. To access EEM Central go to https://www.eemcentral.com.

Confirmation of Receipt of your application will be provided via email immediately upon registering. When you schedule your Examiner(s) as part of the live exams, your selected Examiner will receive a notification of your date and time selected. If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify the Examiner within 48 hours of the scheduled session. Please ensure you provide valid contact information and your availability requested on the form.

Select a Qualified Examiner and Testing Location

EEM uses a group of qualified and trained examiners for the live components of the Certification testing. You may either take the exam in-person at an agreed upon location of the Qualified Examiners choice, or you may elect to take the exam remotely through video conference by following our Technical Requirements article located here: https://edenmethod.com/technical-requirements/. This system allows candidates to take the exam with a variety of times and methods for flexibility. 

It is the candidate’s responsibility to select a date, time and Qualified Examiner.

As part of the application process, it is your responsibility to select the date and time available from the Qualified Examiner schedule. There is no time limit on scheduling the exam once your application is approved, but you will not be able to successfully complete all of the exam components without scheduling the live demonstrations and oral elements of the exam. You may either schedule your live components upon submitting the application or you will be provided a link to schedule at a later time. All available examiners and their time slots, up to 60 days in advance, will be listed on the application form.

The multiple-choice written exams are administered by a computer over the internet and the following conditions are needed:

  • The candidate will receive e-mailed instructions including log-in links, information, and instructions for the test electronically from the Eden Energy Medicine Certification Staff.
  • The test is being offered via your secure student account through Eden Energy Medicine Central (EEM Central). You will access EEM Central through a web browser (Google Chrome recommended) on your computer and/or through the Matrix LMS app for iOS or Android mobile devices. Candidate Assurance Statement: As part of the online application, the candidate will be required to digitally sign and accept the following statement:

I understand and affirm that all exam questions are the copyrighted property of EEM. I affirm that I will not copy, reproduce, record, distribute, or display these exam questions by any means, in whole or in part. I understand that this confidentiality includes not discussing the questions or the exam with any other candidates or individuals. I affirm that I will maintain good conduct as outlined in the EEM Certification Exam Handbook. I understand that the score reported at the end of this exam represents the percentage of items answered correctly and does not indicate a pass or fail.

Identification

Candidate must show the examiner in person or on the Zoom screen one form of ID with their name, signature, and current photo as authorization to take the EEM Live Demonstration and the Ethics oral component of the exam.

Acceptable forms of photo ID include a current driver’s license with photo, a current state ID card with photo, a current passport with photo, or a current military ID with photo.

Examination Restrictions

  • For a list of approved exam materials, please see the Approved Exam Materials list below. Use of a cellular phone or other electronic devices during the live EEM Live Skills Demonstration Exam and the Ethics Oral Exam is strictly prohibited and will result in dismissal from the exams.
  • No questions concerning the answers to the content of the exam may be asked of the Qualified Examiner during the exam.
  • You may take a break whenever you wish, but you will not be allowed additional time to make up for time lost during breaks.
  • You are expected to not access personal items such as books, phones, notes, or non-approved handouts during the break.

Multiple-Choice Test

The computer-based exam is a secure computer environment on EEM Central where the candidate will log in to start the exam.

For timed multiple-choice exams, you must complete them within the time specified. The questions are displayed one at a time with multiple answers and the candidate indicates their choice. The candidate can skip questions in order to return to them later, if they choose. When the test is completed, the candidate’s responses are automatically recorded and graded.

Approved Exam Materials

For the live EEM Live Skills Demonstration Exam the candidate may reference the following charts provided by Innersource when instructed by examiner:

  • Neurolymphatic Points, Neurovascular Points, Sedating and Strengthening Acupressure Points, Source Points, Seed Points, Radiant Circuit Locations, Acupoint Locations on Spleen and Liver Meridians, Muscle Meridian Chart, Zone Tapping Chart, Revitalizing Electrics Protocol, Finger Modes, Wind Points, and Xi Cleft Points.
  • Magnet (if you are not magnet-sensitive)
  • Crystal
  • Stainless steel spoon

For the EEM Written Exam the candidate may utilize:

  • Blank notepad and/or paper for taking notes
  • Pencil, pen, and/or eraser
  • Course Books should not be used as this portion of the test is not intended to be open-book.

For the Ethics Written and Oral components the candidate may utilize:

  • All available book and video resources necessary to successfully complete the tests.
  • Any notes or discussion points utilized in development of case study response for discussion with oral examiner.

Special Examination Accommodations

EEM recognizes that at times a candidate may request special testing accommodations and will make every attempt to address a request for testing accommodations based upon review of english as a second language or learning difficulties. In all cases, requests for special accommodations and documentation of special needs should be submitted at the time of registration via the Request for Certification Exam Accommodations Form.

Exam Results

Multiple-Choice exam results will be reported immediately within the system and within 30 minutes upon completion of the exam via email with the percentage correct for each test. You will not be provided the correct answer for the questions missed. However, you will receive notification immediately with each question missed and the related class where that material is covered.

For your live and oral component results, you will be notified within 48 hours of the end of your session by the Qualified Examiner if you passed or failed the exam, as well as be an exam report of the areas where you need to improve.

Exam Appeals Policy

The exam outcome is based upon a candidate achieving a passing score on the exam. If the candidate received a non-passing score and they believe there is an error in the system or would like to dispute the grade of the Qualified Examiner for their live components, they may request an appeal by sending their appeal via email to [email protected]. Please include your full name, contact phone number, the specific exam result you are challenging, reason for appeal and any supporting documentation. All appeals will be responded to within 48 hours. Investigations of the appeal, depending on the circumstance, may take up to 30 days.

Non-Passing Score on the Examination

If a candidate does not pass certain components of the exam, they have the opportunity to re-take each test. 

EEM Written Exam

  • If the candidate does not receive a passing grade on the EEM Written Exam, they may re-take the test for a fee of $75 per exam. 
  • There is a 48-hour time limit on re-taking the EEM Written Exam.
  • Each test is randomly generated so no two tests are alike.

Ethics Written Exam

  • If a candidate does not receive a passing grade on the Ethics Written Exam, they can re-take the Ethics Written Exam an unlimited number of times and there is no charge.
  • Candidates must wait 48 hours before re-taking the Ethics Written Exam.

EEM Live Demonstration Exam

  • If a Candidate does not pass the EEM Live Demonstration, they will be allowed to re-take the test at a future date, but no sooner than three months (90 calendar days) after the unsuccessful attempt.
  • If the candidate does not receive a passing grade on the EEM Live Demonstration Exam, they may re-take the test for a fee of $300.
  • All Zoom video conferencing sessions will be recorded for quality assurance.

Ethics Oral Exam

  • If a Candidate does not pass the Ethics Oral Exam, they will be allowed to re-take the test at a future date.
  • The Candidate will be able to schedule the new session with an examiner once a minimum of 48 hours has passed after the unsuccessful attempt.
  • If the candidate does not receive a passing grade on the Ethics Oral Exam, they may re-take the test for a fee of $200.
  • All Zoom video conferencing sessions will be recorded for quality assurance.

Cancellation of Scores

EEM is responsible for the validity and integrity of the scores they report. On occasion, computer malfunction or misconduct by a candidate may cause a score to be suspect. EEM reserves the right to void or withhold exam results if, upon investigation, violations of its regulations are discovered. In the case of a suspect result due to malfunction of the system, the candidate may reschedule another test with no additional charge, but the candidate is still responsible for any examination expenses.

Exam Score Retention

Exam scores are retained by EEM for a minimum of five years. Successful completion of the Exam becomes permanent information on the EEM-CPs record.
