The Master Key: Qigong Secrets for Wisdom, Love, and Vitality
How do we open the doorways to authentic love, power, and wisdom? The answer lies in our inner Life Force.
In this keynote speaking, Robert will discuss three centers that hold vast amounts of Qi energy deep inside your body. These three Energy Centers, known as Dantians (Elixir Fileds), regulate your capacity for wisdom, love, and vitality. The relative strength of these qualities determines your energy type.
If you can tap wisdom more easily than love, for example, you may be brilliant but emotionally blocked and unable to open your heart and connect with others deeply. Or if you express love more easily than wisdom you may have a noble heart full of good intentions but timing your actions wisely becomes an issue. In most of us, one of these centers tends to be stronger than the other two and one center tends to be weaker than the other two. This energetic imbalance manifest as an imbalance in daily life since Qi and life reflect each other.
However, once we can harmonize the flow of these three Dantians through empowering the Central Meridian, we are like tapping a wellspring of inner joy that fills our body with radiant vitality and puts a perpetual smile in our heart, a state of unconditional happiness. Unconditional happiness is happiness without a cause. This kind of childlike happiness is the cherished goal of Qigong.
To end of the lecture, Robert will teach and guide a powerful practice to empower all three Dantians and Central Meridian: Three Treasures Standing Meditation.
Robert Peng, a world-renowned Qigong Master and healer, was born and raised in Hunan, China. At age eight, he began an intensive apprenticeship under the close guidance of the legendary monk Xiao Yao, an enlightened master known for his profound healing ability and martial arts skill. At age 15, Robert endured a 100-day water fast in a small dark room at a secluded monastery in the remote mountains of Hunan province, which initiated a radical spiritual transformation and awakened amazing healing powers.
After pursuing his training quietly while attending university in Changsha, he began to teach publicly at 29, and within five years had trained over 150,000 students all over China, Australia, and the U.S.
With his deep understanding and practice of Qigong, and with extensive life and teaching experience in the Western world, Robert has developed a unique way to teach Qigong that people from different cultures can easily understand and follow while enjoying the real essence of this ancient Chinese healing art of wisdom, love, and vitality.
Robert is the author of The Master Key: Qigong Secrets for Vitality, Love, and Wisdom, and the DVD/CD companion series, The Master Key. He has been a regular presenter at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Esalen Institute, Integrative Health Symposium, and many other organizations and schools.
In 2013, together with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Pema Chödrön, Robert was honored as one of Spirituality & Health magazine's “Top 10 Spiritual Heroes” for his contribution to transform the ancient Chinese healing art of Qigong into one of today’s fastest-growing holistic practices.
Robert resides in New York and teaches Robert Peng Qigong world wide.

Embodied Healing: Integrating Trauma Psychology, Culture, and Spirituality
Dr. Thema Bryant
Trauma disconnects people from themselves and others. To heal is to reconnect holistically. This presentation will explore the significance of attending to the survivor's body, mind, culture, and spirit. Important research on the brain and body will be shared as it relates to both the impact of trauma and pathways of healing. Additionally, culture and spirituality/religiosity will be interwoven as integral to many people's identity and healing processes. People of color face higher risk of traumatic events and endorse higher rates of spirituality and religiosity yet their culture and faith traditions are often not attended to by many practitioners. Care providers need to attend to the whole person and in seeing each other holistically they can counter the dehumanizing impact of traumatic stress. This presentation will provide practical strategies for providing care that is trauma-informed and culturally-attuned.
Dr. Thema Bryant is the incoming president-elect of the American Psychological Association, the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology with more than 120,000 members
Dr. Thema Bryant completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Duke University and her post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical Center’s Victims of Violence Program. Upon graduating, she became the Coordinator of the Princeton University SHARE Program, which provides intervention and prevention programming to combat sexual assault, sexual harassment, and harassment based on sexual orientation. She is currently a tenured professor of psychology in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University, where she directs the Culture and Trauma Research Laboratory. Her clinical and research interests center on interpersonal trauma and the societal trauma of oppression.
Having earned a master’s of divinity, Dr. Thema is also an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She directs the mental health ministry at First AME Church in South Los Angeles. Dr. Thema also utilizes sacred dance and spoken word in therapy, community forums, and faith communities. A member of the Association of Black Psychologists, she incorporates culturally based interventions in her teaching, research, and practice. Dr. Thema is the host of the Homecoming Podcast, a mental health podcast to facilitate your journey home to your authentic self.

The Shaman’s Journey Beyond Death
Alberto Villoldo, PhD
Shamans in the Himalayas and the Americas were rigorous investigators of the nature of the mind. Whereas in the West we use the mind to study the outer world, shamans turned the mind within to study the cosmos internally! They discovered to journey to infinity and became consummate mapmakers of these realms.
We will explore these maps and learn how a symbolic-death experience that you choreograph in a ceremony can transform your life and bring healing to the lives of your patients.
By his mid-20s Alberto Villoldo was the youngest clinical professor at San Francisco State University. He was directing the Biological Self-Regulation Laboratory, investigating how energy medicine could change the chemistry of the brain. One day in his laboratory, Alberto realized that his research had to get bigger instead of smaller, that he was looking out of the wrong end of the microscope. He needed to find a system larger than the neural networks of the brain.
For more than 10 years, Alberto trained with the jungle medicine people of the Amazon. In healing his own soul wounds, Alberto walked the path of the wounded healer and learned to transform old pain, grief, anger, and shame to sources of strength and compassion. Through it all, Alberto discovered a set of technologies that transform the body, heal the soul, and can change the way we live and the way we die.
Alberto is founder of the world-renowned Four Winds Society and of the Light Body School. In his teachings and writings, he shares the experience of infinity and its ability to heal and transform us, to free us from the temporal chains that keep us fettered to illness, old age and disease.
